Although the arrival of the "Golden September and Silver October" period has not brought a significant growth to the aggregates market, new projects have entered the preparation period one after another, and infrastructure projects in Shanghai Pudong, Anhui, Jiangsu and Henan and northern Henan have accelerated, which support the the demand for sand and gravel. At the same time, there have been centralized contract signings and construction starts for major construction projects in many places in recent days, with the total amount exceed 3 trillion yuan. According to statistics from relevant agencies, from January to early September 2023, a total of 7,914 major infrastructure projects started across the country, with a cumulative total investment of nearly 5.7 trillion yuan.

China Aggregates Association collected data on national aggregate prices in September 2023 from some representative companies. Among them, aggregates prices in North China, Central China, Northeast China and Yongjing, Yuzhong, and Jingtai regions in northwest China are relatively stable. Prices in Tianshui, Gansu Province have declined. The price of natural sand in some ports along the Yangtze River increased slightly, while the price of manufactured sand remained stable. Sand and gravel prices in southwest regions such as Chengdu, Luzhou, and Zigong have all fallen. The specific situation is as follows:

In Tianshui City of the northwest region, the price of machine-made sand including tax is 67.51 yuan/ton, and the price of gravel including tax is 61.71 yuan/ton. Since July, its sand and gravel prices and sales have increased significantly. The price increased by 20 yuan/ton in August, and the price of sand and gravel in September dropped by 3-5 yuan. However, according to the company, the slight decrease in sand and gravel in September is normal. The demand for sand and gravel is relatively objective. In September, 41,267.8 tons of machine-made sand and 49,962.17 tons of gravel were sold.

In the southwest region, the price of manufactured sand in Chengdu is 80 yuan/ton, down 7 yuan/ton from the previous month. Natural sand was 82 yuan/ton, down 8 yuan/ton from the previous month. The price of gravel in Luzhou City is 78 yuan/ton, a decrease of 12 yuan/ton from the previous month, and the price of natural sand is 82 yuan/ton, a decrease of 15 yuan/ton from the previous month. Gravel in Zigong is 76 yuan/ton, a decrease of 14 yuan/ton from the previous month, and natural sand is 80 yuan/ton, a decrease of 19 yuan/ton from the previous month. The price of sand and gravel in Chongqing has shown both rise and fall slightly, basically 3 yuan/ton variation. Falling demand for sand and gravel has led to falling prices.

Compared with the overall decrease in sand and gravel prices in some ports on the Yangtze River in August, the price of natural sand increased slightly in September. The price of natural sand in Nanjing Port, Nantong Changyuan, Huai'an Port, Suqian Port, Xuzhou Port and other places increased by 4 yuan/ton, while the price of manufactured sand was basically stable at 70 yuan/ton. Mainly due to the increase in the amount of sand and gravel shipped from coastal ports to Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places.
