In November 2023, the decline in the area of newly started real estate construction narrowed. Some areas entered the small peak season of construction at the end of the year. The demand for housing construction is relatively active, but the recovery of real estate is still less than expected. According to statistics, from January to November 2023, the area of newly started housing construction dropped by 21.2%; in terms of infrastructure, large-scale infrastructure projects under construction continue to develop, and large infrastructure such as railways and water conservancy have significantly boosted the demand for sand and gravel. From January to November 2023, national infrastructure investment increased by 5.8% year-on-year, the demand for sand and gravel aggregates from infrastructure projects is relatively stable. At the same time, due to factors such as increased demand for shipping and some rivers entering the dry season, freight rates along some coastal areas have increased, leading to an increase in the price of sand and gravel along the coast and along the river. Overall, aggregates prices were mixed in November.
