On September 5, the official website of the Ministry of Natural Resources released the “Catalogue of Advanced Applicable Technologies for Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Resources (2022 Edition)”, a total of 317 technologies were selected, of which more than 20 advanced and applicable technologies of the aggregates industry were selected. There are 12 items recommended by China Aggregates Association.

In order to accelerate the construction of ecological civilization and the promotion and application of advanced and applicable technologies for the conservation and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, and effectively play the guiding role of technical policies, the Ministry of Natural Resources has decided to carry out a new round of selection and update catalog of mineral resource conservation and comprehensive utilization of advanced and applicable technology. Entrusted by the relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Natural Resources, China Aggregates Association recommended technologies projects in the aggregates industry. CAA organized review, guidance and evaluation of the application projects, and issued a “Recommendation Letter”, and finally submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources.

CAA received a total of 21 applications, of which 14 were eligible for recommendation after formal review, with a recommendation rate of 67%; 12 were finally selected, with a selection rate of 86%.

Aggregates (sand, gravel, and crushed stone) are the world's largest raw materials, minerals and commodities. The annual output and consumption of aggregates in China has leapt to the top in the world, which is an important support for economic development.

The advanced and applicable technologies recommended by China Aggregates Association this time include a number of original technologies, three of which are the first prize-winning projects of the First Aggregate Science and Technology Award. The 12 selected technologies have a total of 2,183 patents, including 509 invention patents. 95% of the selected technologies are evaluated as internationally advanced. They have participated in compiling of 57 standards, won 47 provincial and ministerial level and above scientific and technological awards, promoted 197 mining projects, and the recovery rate of main minerals is 100%, which fully reflects the advanced nature and applicability of related technologies, and will bring good economic and ecological environmental benefits.

The selected technologies range from mine perforation, rock drilling, blasting, transportation to aggregates processing, soft rock processing & hard rock processing, from dry production to wet sand washing, and from crusher to grading optimization, covering the whole process of aggregate production and processing. It demonstrates the overall technical strength in the field of mineral resources, realizing the historic breakthrough and leap-forward development of efficient mining technology, efficient mineral processing technology, green and low-carbon technology, and digital and intelligent technology.

Hu Youyi, president of China Aggregates Association, pointed out that at present, China’s aggregates producing and equipment industry is saying goodbye to the traditional and extensive development mode, and is rapidly transforming to a longer industrial chain, higher added value, and integrated development. With the rapid development of science and technology, the competition between industries and enterprises has become a competition for innovation in science and technology. Innovation is the soul of the survival and development of an industry and enterprise.
